Argos, Airborne Magnetic Data Acquisition Payload

Skipper NDT’s core magnetic measurement payload, designed to capture ultra-high precision magnetic data for subsurface infrastructure mapping. Engineered for flexibility, Argos can be deployed across multiple arial and land-based platforms adapting seamlessly to a wide range of operational environments.

The payload integrates multiple high-accuracy sensors within a lightweight carbon fiber frame, including:

  • 4 fluxgate magnetometers for precise magnetic field detection,

  • a high-precision IMU for accurate positioning and motion tracking,

  • a radar altimeter for consistent altitude measurement,

  • and a custom-built datalogger for synchronized data acquisition.

The payload has a 6ft / 183cm wingspan and can be folded down to 15 in / 38cm in width to fit in a flight case for transportation. The carbon fiber frame is highly modular and can be adapted to different drones as needed.
